Exhibition 2017

In April we returned to Blackpool Central Library for our exhibition. Having used the venue two years ago we knew the room was very light and would show our exhibits off to their best advantage.
The exhibition seemed to come together very well and we were amazed at the diversity of the work on display.  Visitors also commented on the quality and variety of our work,  it is always very rewarding to hear compliments like this!

Our group work was also on display

Catching up!

It is a while since i got around to updating the blog, so I will try to put as much information into this post as I can to update you on what we have all been doing recently.

We enjoyed a Shibori Workshop with Elaine Little from Blackpool Sixth Form College. Elaine brought lots of examples and plenty of samples for us t try out this technique.
We had lots of fun trying different ways with ink, dyes and bleach and the effect on different fabrics when folded and manipulated.

Our tutor for the  March workshop was  Shelley Rhodes. Lots of food for thought in a very informative sketch book workshop. Once again this presented us with lots of opportunities to try different media to print and paint onto papers. We all managed to produce concertina sketch books, and these were displayed at our exhibition in April.
